Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Canandaigua

On Thursday around 10 p.m. first responders were called to North Main Street at Buffalo Street for a crash involving a pedestrian.

Police say Michael Miller, 61, of Canandaigua disregarded a pedestrian cross signal at the intersection and was struck by a southbound vehicle traveling down Main Street.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Daphne Futerman, 67, of Rochester.

Miller sustained serious injuries, but police said they did not appear life threatening. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Futerman was not injured and no tickets were issued.

The Canandaigua Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Canandaigua Emergency Squad and Canandaigua Fire Department.
