The USDA has created various stimulus pandemic assistance programs for farmers throughout the United States.
These programs were created after many industries suffered financially following the pandemic.
As time goes on, the USDA updates their website with more information regarding the programs.
Stimulus programs created for farmers and producers by the USDA
Organic and Transitional Education and Certification Program
Also known as OTECP, this program provides assistance to cover certification costs.
These costs cover the education for agricultural producers who are certified organic or transitioning to organic.
Applications for this stimulus aid are due by Oct. 31, 2022.
Stimulus checks going out in 10 states worth up to $850
Cotton and Wool Apparel Program
This stimulus program is also known as CAWA, and is offering $50 million in stimulus assistance to eligible apparel manufacturers.
This includes
- Those making worsted wool suits, sports coats, pants
- Pima cotton dress shirts
- Pima cotton spinners
- Wool fabric manufacturers
- Wool spinners
In order to qualify, eligible workers or businesses need to have experienced at least a 15% decrease in 2020 gross sales.
This has to be in comparison to sales in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
May 16, 2022 through June 17, 2022 was the application timeframe.
