Wegmans Food Markets was ranked No. 1 on this year’s Best Workpalces in New York list.
Great Place to Work and Fortune Magazine come up with the list each year.
Wegmans has ranked high historically among employers in the food and service industry.
The ranking is based on survey responses from 6.1 million current U.S. workers.
A whopping 89% of current Wegmans employees said its a great place to work. Around 57% of people at the average U.S. company say their employer is a ‘great place’ to work.
“As employee demands and expectations have dramatically changed over the past year, these companies have risen to the occasion—and it’s not been easy,” explained Kim Peters, executive vice president of global recognition, research, and strategic partnerships at Great Place to Work.
The survey and list has been published for more than 35 years.
