The man accused of firing shots at deputies in a Carrabba’s restaurant in the Rochester-area has been indicted on even more serious charges.
A grand jury returned an attempted aggravated murder of a police officer charge against 33-year-old Alonzo Jones.
He had previously been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon following the incident that resulted in temporary closure of the store.
The entire incident unfolded on June 2, when the shots fired on Jones barely missed a deputy’s head. Deputies returned fire, but no one was hit.
