The village was awarded $10 million in the fifth round of the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Taylor says the village is in the process of coming up with final project recommendations. Noting that communities along the Erie Canal are beginning to develop their waterfronts as destinations, he says one idea that has come out of the DRI process is a live music venue along the canal.
Businesses, developers showing interest in coming to Newark
Taylor says businesses and developers are showing an increased interest in the village, due to the improvements being made and land prices that are still below average for the region. The Newark town and village GOP caucuses are Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Newark High School auditorium. They are open to all registered Republican voters in the town or village.
