As part of Newark’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), sponsors of proposed projects will get to make their pitches to the Local Planning Committee Wednesday.
The meeting will be held at The Conference Center at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, 131 Drumlin Court in the Gala Room. This meeting is primarily a working session for the Local Planning Committee, but the public is welcome to attend. A virtual option is available; please register for the Zoom webinar at https://bit.ly/38qHVIQ.
What is the timetable for choosing projects?
The village received a $10 million grant as part of the fifth round of New York State’s DRI. The Local Planning Committee will develop a Strategic Investment Plan for Newark that will examine local assets and opportunities and recommend economic development, transportation, housing, and community projects that align with the community’s vision for downtown revitalization and poised for implementation.
The next Local Planning Committee meeting is set for June 7.
