Mynderse Academy names Valedictorian & Salutatorian for Class of 2022

Megan Michelle Marley, daughter of James and Amylyn Marley, has been named the Mynderse Academy Class of 2022 Valedictorian.  Megan is a member of the National Honor Society.  She has completed coursework in Honors English; Advanced Placement US History and Physics; FLCC Gemini English, Health, Weight Training, Introduction to Business, and French; CCC Pre-Calculus; and a variety of business classes. Megan is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement Calculus, FLCC – Career and Personal Money Management, Stress Reduction, Accelerate U Business Law and Accelerate U Accounting.  Megan has participated in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, the MTF Modeling and Acting Training Program, and Yale University’s The Science of Well Being class. During her time at Mynderse Academy, Megan has held several leadership positions including drama club treasurer, Mynderse Academy newspaper reporter/journalist, 1st Amendment 1st Vote member, Myndersian Yearbook staff member and treasurer, Student Council President, and  Junior Rotarian.  She was also a member of the Masterminds Academic Competition Team, Varsity Band, and Block M Sports Club.  Megan participated in Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Lacrosse, AAU basketball, and WEVA Seneca Strikers Club Volleyball.

Megan is an entrepreneur and was formerly the CEO of PEAK GUM.  She is currently the CEO of a motivational clothing brand, Trendy Confidence.  Megan has also participated in fashion shows with MTF-Fashion Week of Rochester and Fashion Fest.  She can be seen in music videos, acting in film, and as an ad-campaign model for Gabe’s Department Store.  When she gets the chance she enjoys babysitting and house sitting. Megan has served our community as a St. Mary’s Festival volunteer, Methodist Church Food Drive volunteer, Middle School Haunted Hallways organizer/volunteer, soup kitchen volunteer and server, Red Cross Club President, Volleyball Summer Camp volunteer, It’s a Wonderful Run 5K volunteer, Suicide Prevention walk volunteer, Volley For a Cure organizer/volunteer, youth group member, as a Foodlink fundraiser representative and also enjoyed being a Volunteer Counselor for the VA Beach JCC Summer Camp. 

Megan has received numerous Student of the Month awards.  She has been named to the NYS Scholar Athlete Team, and received numerous other awards including:  Individual Student Scholar Athlete, Most Setter Assists Award, Section V Honorable Mention for Varsity Volleyball Individual All-Star, Section V Scholar Athlete, French Medallion award, Masonic Lodge Award for English, Seneca Falls Rotary District 7120 Algebra 2 Award, VFW Lt. Cyrus Garnsey Global 10 Award, International Saunders Scholars Competition Finalist for Trendy Confidence, Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior Rotarian, Hobart and William Smith FLX Top Scholar, and Innovation and Creativity from RIT.  Megan plans to attend the University of Miami with a major in electronic media, which is a mix of broadcast journalism and media management. She also plans to minor in motion picture production and entrepreneurship.

Sydney Abigail Partee, daughter of Elizabeth and Jon Paul Partee, has been named the Mynderse Academy Class of 2022 Salutatorian.  Sydney is a member of the National Honor Society.  She has completed coursework in Honors English; FLCC Gemini  Spanish 4 and Health; CCC Pre-Calculus; Advanced Placement US History; and Project Lead the Way Computer Science Principles.   Sydney is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement Calculus; FLCC Gemini –  Basic Weight Training, Stress Reduction with Exercise, English Composition, Biology, Introduction to Business, Career and Personal Money Management.

During her time here at Mynderse Academy, Sydney has been a member of Student Council for four years, being the secretary her senior year, a Class of 2022 officer, being the president her freshman year and vice-president her senior year, a Junior Rotarian, and earned the Silver Award in Girl Scouts.  Sydney has played on the tennis team, winning the Section V Class B2 Championship in 2021, and competed with both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams.

Sydney has served our community by volunteering for It’s a Wonderful Run and at Seneca Returnables.  Sydney  has been awarded the Junior Rotarian Award, named a Scholar Athlete and Empire Girls State Delegate, and received both the RIT Computing Medal Award and the Hobart and William Smith Finger Lakes Scholars Award. Sydney plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology, pursuing a course of study in mechanical engineering and participating in their Honors Program.
