Mets reinstate Taijuan Walker from injured list, option Yoan López to Triple-A Syracuse

The New York Mets made a roster move prior to Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The team reinstated RHP Taijuan Walker from the 10-day injured list. To make room for him on the 28-man roster, RHP Yoan López was optioned to the Syracuse Mets.

Walker left his first start of the season against the Phillies on April 11 with right shoulder bursitis. The 29-year-old posted a 4.47 ERA over 159 innings in 2021.

López, 29, was called up on April 24. He made one appearance, allowing one run over two innings.

Walker is scheduled to start Saturday’s game. First pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
