Sabres top Flyers, 5-3

The Buffalo Sabres won their second straight game over the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-3, on Sunday evening at the Wells Fargo Center.

Buffalo fell behind early for the second night in a row, but the offense responded with five goals to secure the victory.

Victor Olofsson and Tage Thompson each netted two goals for the Sabres while Anders Bjork also found the back of the net. Dustin Tokarski turned aside 32-of-35 shots.


Kevin Hayes, Noah Cates and Zack MacEwen tallied for Philadelphia while Felix Sandstrom stopped 35-of-39 shots.

Buffalo finished 2-for-2 on the power play and a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to New Jersey to face the Devils at 7 p.m.
