The town of Geneva has obtained a lower rate for the electricity it uses.
Geneva Town Supervisor Mark Venuti says the town worked with a Buffalo firm, Troy and Banks, which conducts periodic audits to make sure the town is getting the best rate it can.
Venuti points out that because rates have been increasing due to higher fuel costs, town residents who locked in their rates last year via the Community Choice Aggregation program are actually paying a lower rate right now than the town itself.
