Sabres blow multiple leads in loss to Hurricanes

The Buffalo Sabres did something they have not done in weeks. They blew multiple leads and fell to the Carolina Hurricanes, 5-3, on Thursday night at PNC Arena.

Buffalo led 2-0, 3-1 and then allowed Carolina to score four consecutive goals.

Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch and Victor Olofsson scored in the loss while Craig Anderson stopped 27-of-31 shots.

Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal each found the back of the net twice for Carolina. Teuvo Teravainen also tallied while Antti Raanta turned aside 18-of-21 shots.

Buffalo finished 0-for-3 on the power play and a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will continue their four-game road trip on Friday when they face the Florida Panthers at 7 p.m.
