Kinney Drugs has installed self-service medication collection kiosks at 22 New York stores.
The program was created in partnership with the New York State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and MED-Project, according to NYup.com. Anyone can use the kiosks to dispose of unneeded, unused, or expired medication.
Participating locations include Kinney Drug stores in Auburn and Moravia (Cayuga County) and Lyons (Wayne County).
The kiosks accept human and pet medications, including controlled substances. The kiosks should not be used to dispose of sharps/needles, medical/biohazard waste, or hazardous household trash or products.
