The Buffalo Sabres are not for sale.
Ron Raccuia, a Pegula Sports and Entertainment executive, shut down all of the rumors Monday after he told reporters that team owners Terry and Kim Pegula have no interest in selling the team.
“None of them are for sale, none will be. There’s no plans at all for that,” Raccuia said.
Pegula Sports and Entertainment also owns and operates the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Bandits, Rochester Americans, Rochester Knighthawks, LECOM Harborcenter, Black River Entertainment and several other entities.
The Sabres have missed the playoffs for 11 consecutive seasons and have not made it past the first round of the playoffs since the 2006-07 campaign. During last season’s 56-game regular season, Buffalo had the NHL’s worst record, winning just 15 games.
According to Forbes, the Sabres were valued at $500 million in December. The Pegulas purchased the team for $165 million in 2011.
