The Art Studio 126 Main in Penn Yan reopens after flooding

]The newest art studio in Penn Yan opened in June 2020 on Main Street in Penn Yan by Crissy McGinness and Macy Hall. It was their dream to open a shop to take their skills and craftmanship to the next level, and they did just that – unfortunately during a pandemic which has presented many challenges, but they pushed through.

The location of The Art Studio 126 Main is in the rear entrance of the Village Drug Store. Follow the path and signs through the mini park off Main Street to their working studio and shop. Inside you’ll find a colorful array of glass mosaics, clay sculptures, jewelry, needle felted designs, hand painted Adirondack chairs, and more.

In February, the store experienced damage from a winter storm and had to unexpectantly close for close to a month for repairs. Since enduring opening a business during a pandemic, this was just a bump in the road for the enthusiastic duo.

On Friday, March 4th, they were able to reopen to the public with a ribbon cutting to celebrate with the Yates County Chamber of Commerce after recently joining as a Chamber Member.

“We are excited to be open again and look forward to seeing everyone. After two years of Covid restrictions, we are looking forward to the summer and growing our community ties. Downtown Penn Yan has grown so much over the last few years, and we are blessed to be a part of it,” said Crissy McGinness.

Their current hours are Fridays 10am-4pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm. Summer hours begin May 1st, and they will be Thursday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates and new items.
