Sabres defeated by Oilers, 6-1

The Buffalo Sabres two-game win streak came to an end on Thursday night with a 6-1 road loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers scored twice in each period while the Sabres scored their only goal in the third period.

Craig Anderson stopped 30-of-36 saves in the loss.

Victor Olofsson scored the lone goal for Buffalo.


Kailer Yamamoto, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Darnell Nurse, Devin Shore and Tyson Barrie netted goals for the Edmonton.

Mike Smith made 27 saves to earn the win.

The Sabres will continue their three-game road trip on Friday night when they face the Calgary Flames. Face-off is slated for 9 p.m.
