Waterloo cruises past Lewiston-Porter in Class B Far West Regional

The Waterloo Indians cruised past the Lewiston-Porter Lancers, 70-45, in the New York State Class B Far West Regional at Rush-Henrietta High School on Saturday evening. They will advance to the NYS semifinal next Saturday at Hudson Valley Community College and will face the winner of Putnam Valley (I) or Locust Valley (VIII).

Waterloo led after every quarter, but didn’t pull away until the second half. Lewiston-Porter trailed by 13 at the end of the first quarter and seven at the break. Waterloo outscored Lewiston-Porter 36-18 in the second half to earn the 25-point victory.


Eighth-grader Addison Bree was one of three players to finish in double figures for the Indians. She scored a team-high 20 points while Giavanna White-Principio netted 16 and Morgan Carabello added 10.

Sophie Auer paced the Lancers with a game-high 22 points.
