Iraq war veteran wins Heritage Corridor award for photo that inspired Lyons mural

A local artist and Iraq War Army Veteran was awarded second place by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor for a photograph of Lock 56 in Lyons.

Cory Reynolds was awarded second place for his photo of Poorhouse Lock (Lock 56). The angle of the photograph reportedly inspired the view of Lock 56 painted by Reynolds on a mural display in Lyons, according to Finger Lakes Times.
