DEC to host 13th annual Jefferson County Youth Turkey Hunt

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced that Environmental Conservation Police Officers (ECOs) are offering youth ages 12 through 15 the opportunity to hunt turkey with ECOs this spring during the 13th annual Jefferson County Youth Turkey Hunt. The hunt is a two-day event with an educational day and is held at the Sackets Harbor Sportsman’s Club.

The Jefferson County Youth Turkey Hunt will take place on Tuesday, April 19th at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday April 23rd. The hunt will take place at Sacket’s Harbot Sportsman’s Club located at 17500 County Route 66, Sackets Harbor, NY.


Interested youth hunters must possess a New York State small game license and valid turkey tags. The event is free to participants and all equipment will be provided if necessary. The event is hosted by the Sackets Harbor Sportsman’s Club and sponsored by the Northern New York Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the New York Conservation Officers Association.
