For the second week in a row, the Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse team (1-2, 0-1 ACC) got off to a slow start and it ended up costing them again as they fell, 20-11, to Virginia (4-0, 1-0 ACC) on Saturday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.
Mikey Berkman led the Orange with four points (2 goals, 2 assists). Griffin Cook recorded a hat trick and finished with three points while Brendan Curry (1 goal, 2 assists) and Lucas Quinn (2 goals, 1 assist) also tallied three points in the loss. Owen Seebold had a two-goal game and Tucker Dordevic rounded out the scoring with a goal.
Bobby Gavin made 12 saves and certainly could have used some more help from the defense.

A few thoughts from today's @CuseMLAX loss to @UVAMensLax. 1-Syracuse has to come out of the gate better. 2. Pete LaSalla was due. No way Phaup was going to own him 3 games in a row. 3. This team misses Owen Hiltz. The Orange just doesn't have "that guy" on offense right now.
