Video game players will soon have a place to gather thanks to Great Lakes Gaming, an entertainment facility launching in Rochester this spring.
Ben Garvey, the founder of Great Lakes Gaming, plans to launch the video gaming entertainment facility on April 20.
“We want to be the country club for gaming,” said Garvey, according to the Democrat & Chronicle. “It’s not just about gaming. It’s about the social atmosphere and connecting with people.”
The 3,400 square foot facility will be located on the 22nd floor of the former Xerox Tower at 100 S. Clinton Avenue in downtown Rochester. It will feature 12 PC gaming stations, two private streaming booths, three console setups, and a café. The facility will host tournaments and events to build a gaming community.
Great Lakes Gaming will host a pop-up event on Tuesday, February 22 at 2 p.m. in the lobby of Innovation Square.
