Victor Olofsson scores two goals as Sabres defeat Islanders

The Buffalo Sabres defeated the New York Islanders, 6-3, on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center.

Victor Olofsson scored the game-winner to snap his 30-game goal drought. He later scored again, potting one of Buffalo’s two empty-net goals. Olofsson hadn’t scored since October 31.

Kyle Okposo, Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch and Henri Jokiharju also scored for the Sabres. Dylan Cozens had three assists and Peyton Krebs had two.

Dustin Tokarski turned aside 30-of-33 shots to earn the victory.

Kyle Palmieri scored twice for the Islanders and Anders Lee also added one.

Ilya Sorokin stopped 35-of-39 shots for New York.

Buffalo went 1-for-2 on the power play and were 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres host the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. Face-off is slated for 7 p.m.
