How does it work?

Scientists at George Washington University developed a “simple blood test” that looks at immune response. The test can quickly detect how severely their immune system will react to the COVID-19 infection.

Dr. Tim McCaffrey, lead researcher for the project, said “we’re using the person’s own body to tell us that they think something is awry.”

The findings have been published in the medical journal Public Library of Science (PLOS ONE).

This test could potentially help doctors determine the best COVID-19 treatment plan for each person.
