Sometimes it just isn’t your night and that was the case for the RIT men’s hockey team on Friday as they fell, 7-0, to AIC at Gene Polisseni Center.
The Tigers recorded 26 shots on goal and had three power play opportunities, but just couldn’t put the puck in the back of the net. AIC finished 3-for-6 on the power play.
RIT goaltender Tommy Scarfone stopped 19-of-23 shots before he was pulled for goalie Kolby Mathews. He allowed three goals on seven shots.
Six different players scored for the Yellow Jackets. Justin Young scored twice while Nico Somerville, Chris Theodore, Blake Bennett, Chris Dodero and Aaron Grounds also netted goals.
RIT looks for revenge on Saturday as they host AIC for the second straight night. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
