Newark man faces felony charges after domestic dispute with family member

Deputies arrested a Newark man following an investigation into a domestic dispute that happened in the town of Lyons.

Jonathan Tyson, 28, was involved in a verbal dispute with a family member, who had an active court order of protection in place against him.


During the dispute, Tyson yelled in the victim’s face, and pushed his chest against hers. Tyson’s infant son was also present during the dispute.

He was charged with second-degree harassment, first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
