The New York State Office of Cannabis Management will hold 11 community outreach events to discuss the new law allowing commercial cannabis sales. The events will be held virtually from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the first one will take place on January 11. Each event will focus on a specific region, starting with Western New York.
“This is just the beginning. As we continue to build an equitable New York cannabis industry, we will stay in contact with communities to make sure everyone has the necessary information to stay safe and healthy, and to seize the opportunity for long-term success and access to this industry,” says the office’s Board Chair Tremaine Wright, according to the NY State of Politics blog.
The goal of the meetings will be, in part, to explain the specifics of the new law and its potential impact on public safety and mental health.
