As the coronavirus variant, Omicron, has spread new symptoms have been reported.
Based on data collected from the Zoe COVID Symptom Study, Business Insider created a chart to explain the 14 most common symptoms associated with the omicron variant.
Most common symptoms associated with the COVID-19 variant Omicron
The chart uses data from January 5, 2022. The data was collected from people in the United Kingdom who tested positive during the first surge of the omicron variant. The top 14 symptoms are as follows:
- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Persistent cough
- Hoarse voice
- Chills or shivers
- Brain fog
- Muscle pains
- Loss of smell
- Chest pain
How to manage symptoms
The senior vice president and global medical director for International SOS, Dr. Robert Quigley, said that symptoms associated with the this variant “may be difficult or impossible to stop.”
Quigley said that hydrating and and over-the-counter cold medications can help reduce symptoms such as headache, sore throat, or fever.
