The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man killed in a collision and car fire in the Yates County town of Italy.
Using dental records, the ME’s office identified the man as 33 year old Luke Gudinas of Branchport.
The crash happened at 3:04AM on New Year’s Day on Italy Valley Rd. near the intersection of Clute Rd. The fire resulting from the collision with a tree burned the body beyond recognition. Naples firefighters put out the fire.
Yates County Coroner Kathy McGrath ordered the body taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office.
Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike says the cause of death is pending the results of a toxicology test.
