A man serving a life sentence in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend and three-month-old son in Steuben County over a decade ago has died in prison.
According to the New York State Department of Corrections, Bryan Ashline was pronounced dead on December 24 at 11:37 p.m.
He had received emergency medical attention at the Clinton Correctional Facility. The cause of death is being determined by a medical examiner there.
Ashline was serving a life sentence for the June 2010 murders of Trieste Clayton and their son Xavier.
He was convicted in 2011 of first degree murder, aggravated criminal contempt, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to state records.
