Attorney General and Democratic candidate for Governor Letitia James unveiled her plan for battling the COVID-19 pandemic if she were elected Governor.
Spectrum News reports the plan includes having the state buy more testing kits, expanding outreach beyond major cities and offering $200 to those who have not yet been vaccinated.
James stopped short of criticizing Governor Kathy Hochul by name, saying that “state government” is to blame for the recent rise in case numbers in New York.
Among the highest positive test rates in the state are in what the state refers to as the Finger Lakes, which includes Rochester and Monroe County. James has been the state’s Attorney General since 2019.
