Paolo Gentiloni, the E.U.’s commissioner for economics and taxation, says people need to remember that there is still a pandemic happening.

He added that new restrictions could always be a possibility if conditions continue to worsen.
B.1.X or B.1.640 is a new variant that has been written about in Europe. This mutation has differences in the spike protein that haven’t been seen before.
They believe the mutation came from Africa and can see the outcome going either way, but want people to remember where they came from before it possibly spreads.
There are only a handful of cases right now.
