PAL-MAC SEASON ENDS: Red Raiders championship girls soccer team loses in regionals

The Pal-Mac girls soccer season came to an end on Saturday night.  Facing Lewiston Porter of Section VI in the regional round of tournament play, the Red Raiders couldn’t rebound from an early deficit that the Lancer attack put on.

Lewiston Porter jumped out quickly in the first half, netting two goals within the first 10 minutes of play.  Pal-Mac’s Molly Seither was able to get the Red Raiders on the board on a corner kick shortly after, cutting the Lancer lead in half.

Lewiston Porter was able to score one more goal in the first half, leading to a halftime score of 3-1.  The Lancers scored another goal making it 4-1, but Maya Ikewood answered right back for Pal-Mac and cut the lead down to 4-2.  However it wouldn’t be enough for the Red Raiders, and Lewiston Porter was able to net one last goal as the clock ticked down, with the final score being 5-2 in favor of the Lancers.

Pal-Mac will finish the season with an overall record of 18-3-0, and a record in the Finger Lakes East of 7-0-0.  It was a fantastic season for the Red Raiders, rebounding from the disappointing end of the 2020 season to take sectional glory in 2021.  2022 looks to be just as promising, as leading scorers Maya Ikewood and Emma Robinson lead the returning roster for Pal-Mac.
