Fayette man faces felony charges after traffic stop for DWI

Deputies say a 34-year-old Fayette man faces a number of charges including an elevated DWI count after a traffic stop.

Gregory Smith, 34, was stopped by deputies due to authorities having prior knowledge that his license was revoked.


Upon investigation, it was confirmed that Smith’s license was revoked – and was driving under the influence of alcohol.

He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with felony DWI and felony aggravated DWI.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
