The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a Marion man following an assault that happened on September 11 around 2 a.m.
According to police, Troy Meland, 27, of Marion struck another person with a metal pipe causing serious physical injury to the victim.
Meland fled the scene and was not located by police. A warrant was issued for his arrest – and after being taken into custody in Wayne County on an unrelated charge – was located by Seneca Falls police.
He was charged with felony assault and felony criminal possession of a weapon.
He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
