Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has announced she will not be running for governor in 2022, and that she’s happy serving as New York’s junior senator, a position she’s held since 2009.
Attorney General Letitia James and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams appear to be exploring the idea but have not officially announced whether they would be running or not.
Gillibrand said her energy is needed on issues currently being discussed in Washington D.C.
Many officials across the state are endorsing Governor Kathy Hochul’s run for governor in 2022.
