1 out of every 5 COVID-19 patients needs Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation because they’re pregnant and unvaccinated

Data in England shows a common trait for one out of every five people testing positive for COVID-19.

These patients are unvaccinated as well as pregnant and make up 20% of positive cases.

One third of patients using special machines to administer Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation therapy are pregnant women without the vaccine.

The therapy is for people who have such damaged lungs that a ventilator isn’t enough to maintain their oxygen levels.

Experts are hopeful that pregnant women will choose to get the vaccine as COVID continues to make unvaccinated pregnant women very ill.
