A multi-agency operation led by New York State Police uncovered a methamphetamine lab and seized a stockpile of drugs and manufacturing materials in Schuyler County last week, resulting in the arrest of a convicted felon.
On April 3, members of the State Police Troop E Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), with support from the State Police Uniform Force and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team West (CCSERT West), executed a search warrant at 2665 Church Road in the town of Reading.
Inside the residence, investigators found a fully operational meth lab and seized a range of illicit substances, including approximately 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine, 3 ounces of suspected meth oil, and 2 gallons of methamphetamine oil. Authorities also discovered 300 pseudoephedrine pills, psilocybin mushrooms, digital scales, packaging materials, and lab equipment.
CCSERT specialists removed solvents and chemical reagents used in the illegal manufacture of meth. An antique pistol was also recovered during the search.
Police arrested Jeremy Wright, 44, of Reading, who now faces multiple felony charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (A-II felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with Intent to Sell (B felony), and Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Third Degree (D felony).
Wright was processed at State Police Dundee and transported to Schuyler County Jail for arraignment. The investigation remains active.
