Three arrested after burglary, foot pursuit in Montour Falls

On October 3 around 6:20 p.m. deputies were dispatched to 220 North Genesee Street in the village of Montour Falls for a reported burglary in progress.

Deputies arrived to find an open window and unsecured door at the building. As deputies were searching the building with the assistance of K9 Digit, three males were seen running from the complex and were taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

Donald Ball Jr., 21, of Montour Falls, Rilee Kuparinen, 18, of Cayuta, and an unidentified 17-year-old from Montour Falls were charged with felony burglary and criminal mischief. 

Ball and Kuparinen were arraigned and released. The 17-year-old was issued an appearance ticket for youth court. 

The Sheriff’s Office says it was assisted by the Watkins Glen Police Department.
