New York State now offers online data report about breakthrough COVID cases in vaccinated people

The New York State Department of Health will now share data pertaining to breakthrough cases to aid in showing the effectiveness of vaccines.

The website gives an overview, findings, rates of cases with hospitalizations, and methodological notes.

The website shows data up to Oct. 3, and shows that there have been 95,146 laboratory-confirmed breakthrough cases of COVID-19 among fully-vaccinated people in New York State. This shows that .8% of fully vaccinated people ages 12 and up have been infected.


Of these infections, 6,567 have been hospitalized, equating to .06%.

The numbers are expected to be updated regularly.
