Local nursing home is one of 115 to reach a 100% vaccination rate against COVID-19 in New York State

There are now 115 nursing homes across the State of New York that have a 100% vaccination rate, according to LocalSyr.com.

One of the facilities to have reached that point of 100% is Kendal, located in Ithaca.

It’s only one of 13 facilities of a specific type that has a full vaccine rate among both staff and residents. Residents live in retirement cottages, can  move in at 65, and receive appropriate care at all levels of their health.

The total number of residents vaccinated is 340, with their resident association asking the staff to get the vaccine.

When the company policy went into place requiring vaccines, ten staff members left, but that allowed for all staff and residents to foster a safer environment by reaching that goal of 100%.
