Hornell residents have complained of discolored tap water for awhile, and it’s still happening

Following a month of discolored tap water coming out of Hornell residents sinks, the water is considered clean but should not be consumed.

Hornell Mayor John Buckley stated that a $6 million dollar water filtration plant project is currently happening so the flushing schedule was interrupted while new water tanks were being built.

Out of fear of running out of storage when building new tanks, the City made the decision to skip flushing to save water.
