A rural school district in Wayne County is delaying the start of in-person learning after staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
The Red Creek Central School District announced that it would go remote for several weeks after multiple staff members tested positive, prompting a number of other staff members to quarantine.
Superintendent Brian Corey sent the announcement to parents Tuesday.
Virtual learning will continue through October 1, according to Corey. He said that the first day of school will be delayed to September 13.
The first day of in-person learning will take place October 4.
