The Worcester Red Sox clipped the Red Wings, 4-2, Friday night at Frontier Field.
The Wings loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth inning, but were only able to push across one run on a Blake Swihart walk.
Rochester went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
Swihart homered in the fifth inning to account for the other Red Wings run on the evening.
Worcester scored one in the second and three in the third off Wings starter Bryan Bonnell.
Nick Wells and Andrew Lee combined to throw five innings of scoreless relief to keep Rochester in the game.
Daniel Palka had three of the Red Wings’ six hits on the night.
Game five of the six-game series is Saturday night at Frontier Field.
