The guidance for New York State schools and COVID-19 requirements has been released in a 20-page document.
Within the 20 pages is how testing for the virus will work.
Teachers and staff must be tested at least once a week in areas the CDC determines to be areas that gave low, moderate, substantial, or high transmission rates.
Teachers and staff may bypass the mandatory testing if they are fully vaccinated with proof.
The guidance states that if a teacher works at multiple schools they can still just use one test a week.
Schools are also required to have the capacity to provide weekly staff testing as well as testing for symptomatic students and staff or for those who have been exposed.
Masks are also mandated despite vaccination status.
