The New York State Department of Health has filed for an emergency regulation which will require all students, faculty, and staff to wear masks in school.
DOH Commissioner Howard Zucker wrote a letter of determination after the regulation was filed.
Earlier this week, Governor Kathy Hochul has stated that she would enforce mask requirements in schools to keep kids and teachers safe.
She also said she wanted to require vaccines for teachers with a test out option but no guidance on that has come out yet.
