Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts president Robin Chappelle-Golston looks forward as Governor Cuomo leaves office and Kathy Hochul takes over.
Chappelle-Golston says under Cuomo she felt the organization was still able to do a lot of good for the state, but she is excited to see what the first female governor is going to do.
The organization is not yet ready for endorsing Hochul, and has a process they follow.
They appreciate the way Hochul has done things so far but are waiting to see if she’s successful at getting the priorities passed before endorsement.
Hochul is thought to be an ally in the future regarding women’s reproductive issues, and those issues are likely going to gain attention in 2022.
