Cuomo mandates vaccine for all New York State healthcare workers

Governor Cuomo has announced that all healthcare workers in the State of New York will be required to have the Covid-19 vaccine by September 27 of this year.

Currently 75% of state hospital workers, 74% of adult care workers and 68% of nursing home workers all have their vaccines.

On July 28 Cuomo said that state employees, as well as patient facing employees, would need to have their vaccines by Labor Day.

State employees that are unvaccinated need to have weekly Covid-19 testing completed.

The State Department of Health has also authorized an additional shot for patients who are immunocompromised.

Eligible residents may get their third shot 28 days after completing their two dose series beginning immediately.
