Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office investigates serious crash involving motorcycle in Montour Falls

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle.

On August 4th, 2021, at around 3:00 p.m., the Schuyler County 911 Center was notified of a single vehicle motorcycle accident on State Route 14 near Raymond Street in the Village of Montour Falls.

The responding Deputy arrived to find that a Maroon Harley – Davidson motorcycle operated by Ronald H Havens, 68, of Odessa, NY had crashed into the guardrail.


Havens sustained injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital by Guthrie Air’s medical helicopter.

It is unknown what caused Havens to strike the guardrail.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle drifted off the side of the road and there were no obstructions nor was speeding a factor.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office was the New York State Police, Montour Falls Fire Department, Schuyler Ambulance, and T and R Towing.
