A new housing initiative developed by the urban league of Rochester called L2P Westside offers lease-to-purchase affordable homes.
The project offers 41 single-family homes that tenants can rent to own over a 15 year span.
The rent ranges from $670 to $795 and residents have to maintain the homes.
Residents receive financial literacy training while living in the homes and on the 16th year of residency may choose to purchase the home for the principal interest.
The plan is to finish the project by September.
More information about qualifying and applying to the program can be found on their website, https://www.homeleasing.net/l2p-westside
