A Corning woman has volunteered to repaint the Centennial sculpture in Corning.
Jenny Monroe said everyone needs to take care of what they value, and she’s taken on the task of repainting the wear and tear on the sculpture due to rain, snow, and even birds.
The sculpture gets a face lift around every twelve years.
The sculpture is decorated by various figurines to represent moments in the city’s history, and Monroe spent 400 hours hand painting each detail.
The sculpture is 25 years old.
