Two airlifted from serious crash in front of Marion gas station, two others hospitalized

Investigators provided a second update on Monday following a serious two-car crash in Marion that resulted in four people being hospitalized.

Deputies said Deven Ferrelldeutenberg, 17, of Newark and John Briggs Jr., 28, of Macedon were transported by ambulance for minor injuries. Meanwhile, passengers in Ferrelldeutenberg’s vehicle- a 16- and 18-year-old were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies say Ferrelldeutenberg was traveling south on Route 21 when he attempted to make a left turn in front of northbound traffic.


He collided with Briggs’ vehicle, according to deputies. It all happened around

Deputies were assisted by firefighters from Marion, Western Wayne EMS, Williamson Town Ambulance, and Finger Lakes Ambulance.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s office Crash Team responded to the scene for further investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
